Dodie MacArthur began her real estate career in Honolulu in 1972. She quickly rose from top sales agent and project manager for Honolulu developments to representing prominent estate and development properties on Oahu and then the Big Island of Hawaii. With her honed real estate skills and experience, Dodie founded MacArthur & Company in 1989, on the Big Island, with the objective of creating a unique boutique firm where the client’s needs come first. In its first year of operations the company gained recognition as a leading Big Island firm and continues to thrive as a market leader today. With her abundant energy, creative marketing and dynamic leadership skills, Dodie oversees business development and overall management at MacArthur Sotheby’s International Realty. She works closely with her clients in the marketing and sale of their properties, her many years cultivating client and broker relationships ensures them unrivaled exposure. Along with her management staff and team of successful sales agents and brokers, Dodie is able to provide local, national and international clients with unparalleled customized service, fulfilling her promise that the client’s needs come first.

In 1989, Dodie founded MacArthur & Company on the Big Island of Hawai’i which quickly became a leading real estate firm driving the market. She honed the art of real estate marketing by crafting creative, innovative approaches around the transience of technology and the economy, cultivating the firm into an award-winning, top-selling, full-service agency.

With her goal to share Hawaii and provide world-wide exposure for her client's greatest assets Dodie aligned with Sotheby’s International Realty® (SIR), a proven key player in the world of luxury. In 1996, MacArthur Sotheby’s International Realty was born. The alliance with SIR guaranteed that her clients became part of a larger global family

It was Dodie’s visionary way of thinking, and dedication to better serve clients, that on the 30th Anniversary of the start of her boutique firm, she sold the company to Venture Sotheby’s International Realty of the California Bay Area, becoming the first real estate company with a direct line to strategic markets in Hawai’i and California.
